MY FAMILY'S (NATURAL FOOD) JOURNEY.
My name is Tyrone Jackson. I am the guy next to "the Beautiful One" with the shawl. Her name is Marcella and she is my wife of nearly 20 years. Surrounding us are our four children: Lilly (17, Jennie 15, Evan 12, and Eva 9). They are quite a bit older (and bigger) now, but I love this picture.
The Local Meat Club is the result of my family's natural food journey. We struggled to find affordable food to feed our family. We didn't know how to dehydrate or ferment foods; we didn't know you could get unpasteurized milk. We only knew that we were done with the Industrial Food system and we had to find a better way.
We knew transitioning to a more natural life would be a process, but we were not prepared for the 20+ year journey that followed. It seemed like the more we learned, the more we realized that nearly everything had to change. Then we realized a startling truth: this wasn't about changing everything in our lives; it was about us changing. It was about the JOURNEY of transformation.
Marcella and I realized that if we wanted to experience our ideal life, we would have to break from conventional norms and take personal responsibility for our health, happiness, and financial well-being. Instead of just being unhappy consumers of industrial products, we had a responsibility to create the products and systems that we wanted to see in the world. And we had a greater responsibility to create those systems from a place of joy, gratitude and abundance.
This realization was the beginning of our real journey. That journey has taken us all over this nation and deep within ourselves. It has led us to discover and be discovered by hundreds of families and people on their own personal journeys.
It has led us to start a natural sausage company called "The Good Frank", set up our own food system, have two (unassisted) home births, homeschool our four children and learn to make innumerable products from toothpaste to probiotic *maintenance drinks", It also led the beautiful one to became a Reiki Master, and has caused me to be a more patient, loving husband (still in progress ;) ).
Because of this transformation, our lives are truly richer, more vibrant, and more peaceful than I ever could have imagined. We are still on our personal journey. We still have health goals and project goals, but we have been blessed with a community of friends to share our journey with.
If you are on your journey, we'd love to hear from you... more than that, we'd love to have you join us

ps. Here are some photos of me and my family. We founded the Local Meat Club. We were not rich or connected. We were not even farmers. We were just a family that wanted more from life; we wanted better food. We wanted it and believed that we could have it. We ended up not only secured better food for our family, but we were able to help secure food for other families too. The point is simple: Believe in yourself and pursue the things that matter to you. I believe in you and can honestly say that going on this journey has been one of the most rewarding decisions that I've ever made.
I'm Looking forward to meeting you at our next event.
